Every year, One Young World brings the brightest young people from around the world together to share their stories, ideas, and experiences and empower each other to create positive change.
This year, we were incredibly fortunate to have the event take place in Ottawa from September 28 – October 1. Having an event like this right here in Canada made it easier for young Canadians to get involved, and for them to learn and share with other change-makers from other countries
The AstraZeneca Young Health Program (YHP) got actively involved in One Young World Ottawa and engaged young Canadians in the event, in amazing ways:
- We sent a delegation of 10 amazing young Canadians to participate in One Young World, where they connected and shared with a global network;
- We engaged young people at our booth in the exhibit hall, where we spoke with young people about health rights and what they thought had to be done to improve the health of young people; and
- We held a workshop on youth engagement, profiling the amazing work of our young Canadian delegates and YHP Canada partners.
Over the next few weeks we will be curating the stories and experiences of our delegation and sharing them on the blog and Twitter (twitter.com/YHPCanada). Keep an eye out for these stories and learn about our delegates’ plans to take what they learned at One Young World and carry it forward into the work they do today and into the future.
