YHP Canada has partnered with several leading organizations that share our goal of improving the health and well-being of Canadian youth. Together with these partners, YHP Canada delivers on-the-ground programs, generates new evidence, and advocates for positive change.
Our National Partners
Physical and Health Education (PHE) Canada is Canada’s premier professional organization for physical and health educators. PHE supports schools in the provision of Quality Daily Physical Education and helps foster healthy school communities through a range of programs, resources and initiatives. Together, AstraZeneca Canada and PHE co-founded the At My Best® initiative, a school-based intervention that encourages physical activity, healthy eating and emotional wellness. At My Best® forms the core of the Young Health Program in Canada.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC) is a leading provider of after-school and out-of-school programs that support the healthy physical, educational and social development of children and youth. As one of the largest youth-serving agencies in Canada, BGCC supports more than 210,000 young people and their families each year and operates in 650 locations in neighbourhoods where they are most needed including large city centres, remote rural communities and First Nations Reserves.
mindyourmind (MYM) is an award-winning non-profit mental health program that engages youth and the professionals who serve them to co-develop resources aimed at reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and increasing access and to community support.
Other YHP Collaborations
We also work closely with other youth-focussed organizations including The Sandbox Project, a not-for-profit organization focused on improving youth health outcomes with respect to injury prevention, obesity, mental health, and the environment through evidenced-based public policy.
YHP Canada is a proud and committed sponsor of The Young Canadians Roundtable on Health (YCRH), a key Sandbox Project initiative. This innovative youth-lead organization brings together a committee of bright, engaged young Canadians who advocate on behalf all youth on key health issues. The mission of YCRH is to make Canada the healthiest country in which to grow up.
